The Routt National Forest has modified the Silver Creek Fire Closure Area, re-opening some lands northwest of the fire, and closing some additional lands to the south.
Approximately 13,000 acres of the northwest corner of Sarvis Creek Wilderness Area has been opened for recreational access, along with approximately four miles of the west end of Sarvis Creek Trail. National Forest lands east of the Sarvis Creek Wilderness, including Red Dirt Reservoir and Forest Road 100, remain closed. South of the fire, the closure area has been expanded due to the fire’s movement to the south. The expansion includes National Forest roads, trails, and lands from Forest Roads 102 and 250 east to the Forest boundary and south to Colorado Highway 134. Forest Roads 100, 102 and 250, along with all other roads within the closure area are closed. This area closure is intended to protect firefighter and public safety in an active wildfire area.
See the attached map for the modified closure area.
