Spring Creek Fire Update - July 15, 2018

Spring Creek Fire Wildfire
News – 7/15/2018

Fire Activities: Firefighters will remain in the area again today to check and recheck for any heat sources that might still be present near structures. Mop up operations will continue and firefighters will patrol the fire perimeter.

The number of firefighters will continue to decline as the Blue Team transfers command of the fire back to local resources and agencies. The commitment to public safety remains high. The public will continue to see smoke and occasional flames within the fires interior until significant rainfall returns to the area.

Drivers are reminded to please slow down, remain attentive, and use caution so crews can safely work. Fire weakened trees continue to pose a hazard and flash floods are possible in areas that receive rainfall. Anyone with questions about structures, utilities, or roadways, should contact the appropriate agency for guidance. Spring Creek Fire Management remains committed to public safety and is working with local officials and land managers to meet common goals and objectives.

Weather: Today will bring moderate temperatures and an increased chance of wetting rain. If thunderstorms develop, those areas will have an increased chance of flash flooding. Remain cautious in areas around the burn scar. Upper elevations will see temperatures in the upper 70’s, while lower elevations will be in the upper 80’s. .
