West Valley Fire Emergency Area, Road and Trail Closure A. PROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. 551 and 36 CFR 261.50, the following acts are prohibited in the area described in this Order, located within the Pine Valley Ranger District, Dixie National Forest, which is closed for safety due to wildland fire:
It is prohibited to go into or be upon the area, roads, and trails described below, which are closed for the protection of Public Health and Safety. 36 CFR 261.52(e), 261.54(e), 261.55(a).
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following are exempt from this order.
1. Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
C. AREA DESCRIBED
Area Closure: The area closed by this Order is depicted on the Map attached hereto as Exhibit A, which is incorporated herein by reference, and is generally described as:
An area of National Forest System land generally to the west of New Harmony, and specifically lying west of Forest Road 029, the National Forest boundary and the Pine Valley Wilderness boundary, North of the Pine Valley Wilderness boundary, the Summit Trail and the Canal Trail, East of the Forest Service Road 011, and South of Forest Service Road 009
Road Closures: Forest Road 011 (Grassy Valley) from Forest Road 035 to Forest Road
Trail Closures: Summit Trail (31021), Gardner Peak (31006) from the junction with Canal Trail, Water Canyon (31024), Mill Canyon (31013), White Rocks (31014), Long Flat (31050), Upper Grant Ranch (31018), Comanche (31011), Anderson Valley (31022), and Syler Springs (31051).
The purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety during the West Valley Fire.
1. This Special Order implementing Area Closure Restrictions is effective on Thursday June 28th, at 11 AM. and shall remain in effect until July 31, 2018 or until rescinded, whichever is sooner.
2. Exhibit A, Map, Definitions are attached and incorporated into this ORDER.
Violation of these prohibitions is punishable as a class B misdemeanor, by a fine of not more than $5000.00 for an individual or $10,000.00 for an organization and/or imprisonment of not more than 6 months [Title 16 USC 551, 18 USC 3571(b)(6),Title 18 USC 3581 (b)(7)].
