Creek Fire update - 7 pm

Incident: Creek Fire Wildfire

ARCADIA, Calif. – The Creek Fire north of San Fernando on the Angeles National Forest (ANF) is estimated at 11,377 acres with zero percent contained. About 600 personnel are assigned to the incident. The fire started at 3:44 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Firefighting efforts are being hampered by extreme fire behavior and strong, gusty winds. There are 2,500 structures threatened and 110,000 people have been evacuated. Mandatory evacuations have been issued north of I-210, from Glenoaks Boulevard to Haynes Canyon. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The incident is being managed under Unified Command with the U.S. Forest Service, Los Angeles County and Los Angeles City. Resources include three helicopters, 12 crews, 90 engines and 2 dozers. The CAL FIRE Team 5 Incident Management Team has been ordered to manage the incident.
