The Ironton Ranger District plans to conduct its final prescribed burn (89 acres) today (12/4/17) in the Lake Vesuvius Recreation Area.

An Emergency Closure Order, due to prescribed burning activities, remains in effect for portions of the Lake Vesuvius Recreation Area in Lawrence County, Ohio. The following areas are closed: Boardwalk, Lake Shore Trail, Boat Dock, Rock House Trail, Backpack Trail, Archery Trail, main loop of the Lake Vesuvius Horse Trail System, and Pine Knob Campground.

ATTENTION HUNTERS: Since Friday, 11/24 through Monday, 12/4, a portion of Iron Ridge Campground is available for hunters. A couple of port-a-johns are on site. No water is available. All fees are to be paid as normal for renting of the sites.

The Emergency Closure Order is in effect until Saturday, December 9, 2017. or unless terminated sooner.
