Brady Park Prescribed Burn Complete on Springerville Ranger District

Incident: Brady Park Prescribed Burn Prescribed Fire
Released: 10/18/2017

The Springerville Ranger District on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests conducted prescribed fire operations October 16th and 17th. The district burned approximately 1469 acres on the Brady Park Unit, 6 miles southeast of Vernon. Personnel will remain on scene patrolling and mopping up the burn throughout the week and weekend as needed.

Smoke will remain visible from Round Valley, Arizona State Highway 260, US Highway 60 and along Forest Roads 117, 404, and 65. The majority of the smoke should disperse by the end of the weekend with isolated smoke remaining until burning materials are either extinguished by the weather or consumption of available fuels is complete.

Motorists are advised to drive safely when approaching areas where prescribed fire activities may limit visibility and hinder fire personnel operations.
