Firefighters made good progress yesterday constructing fireline along the south and west sides of the fire. Line construction will continue today along with cutting hazardous trees. Incident managers priority is to have fireline surrounding the fire in the event the warmer, drier weather predicted for the weekend would cause a flare-up.
Crews continued to build fireline along the southern end of the fire westward aided by favorable weather conditions. They also began cutting hazardous trees along the fireline.
Crews will continue building fireline along the southern end of the fire on the North Fork side. Crews will also patrol existing firelines to keep them clear of freshly fallen leaves.
Today will be cloudy with some fog clearing this afternoon. Temperatures will be in the upper 60’s with humidity in the low 70’s. Winds will be southeast 10 to 20mph becoming south 5 to 10mph.
There is a lot of fire equipment and personnel working in the area. The public is urged to SLOW DOWN and use caution when driving.
