Caribou Firefighter Close Call

Incident: Caribou Fire Wildfire

A firefighter was injured by a snag while working on the Caribou Fire yesterday afternoon. The firefighter sustained injuries to their left shoulder and neck. The patient was treated on the scene and transported by ground ambulance to a helicopter which transported them to Kalispell. The firefighter’s injuries were evaluated and treated by medical staff at the hospital. Forest Service representatives were at the hospital to assist. The firefighter was released from the hospital following treatment the same day.
