National Forest System Roads and Trails Area Closure

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), when provided by an order, the following acts are prohibited on the Rocky Mountain Ranger District, Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest:

Being on the trail. (36 CFR 261.55a)

Going into or being upon an area. (36 CFR 261.52e)

The following trails are CLOSED to all travel (see attached map):

Trail #108 - Route Creek; from junction with #110 North Fork Sun River east to junction with #117 Washboard Reef

Trail #110 - North Fork Sun River closed from Sun River pass, south to junction with #108 Route Creek

Trail #116 - Open Creek

Trail #117 - Washboard Reef from junction with #108 north to junction with #187 Wrong Ridge

Trail #175 - North Wall from Continental Divide South to junction with #132 Moonlight

Trail #187 - Wrong Ridge

These restrictions are in support of the Scalp Fire operation and this order will remain in effect from the date signed until December 1, 2017, unless rescinded sooner.

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2. Any Federal, State or Local Law Enforcement Officer or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A. This order will be posted accordance with 36 CFR 261.51.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. (16 U.S.C. 551 and 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571).
