Evacuation Advisory To Be Reduced from Bear Creek to Night Sky Drive on Saturday
Kittitas County, WA - 09/15/2017 - Effective at 8:00am Saturday morning (9/16), the Kittitas County Emergency Operations Center will officially reduce the Evacuation Level 3 Advisory to a Level 2 Advisory from Bear Creek to Night Sky Drive, allowing more residents affected by the Jolly Mountain Fire to return home.
This advisory change affects all residences north of Bear Creek, including the Bell Creek community, Morgan Creek community, and the Timber Ridge community. Residents returning home are asked to leave all gates open and to use extra caution on the roads, as fire personnel and equipment are still actively working and moving through the area.
The Kittitas County Fire Marshal also advises that all propane tanks were shut off and technicians placed a “lock out-tag out” lock on each tank. Residents will be responsible for contacting their propane provider for removal of these locks.
Residences in the Salmon La Sac HOA area, Paris Creek area and Boulder Creek area on Forest Service Road 4330 (Fish Lake Road) will remain at a Level 3 notice. Fire crews are still engaged in suppression activities in these areas.
Lake Cle Elum remains closed at this time.
The road closure on Salmon La Sac Road at White Fir Drive will remain in place through the weekend, with only local traffic allowed. An additional roadblock will be in place on Salmon La Sac Road just north of Night Sky Drive.
