Yesterday’s Fire Update: Minimal fire growth occurred in the east side of the fire, with the exception of a few spot fires that crews engaged with direct attack. Fire burned through Bedrock campground along the 18 road, with no impact to campground facilities. Crews in the northeast area of the fire continued to construct and reinforce control lines at the USFS 1817 and 1830 roads. Fire fighters mopped up the fire line on the north and northwest portions of the fire.

Today’s Action: Public and firefighter safety remain the top priority. Fire fighters will directly attack the fire where it crossed the USFS 18 road with crews, engines, and aircraft when available. A contingency control line will be constructed using the USFS 1821 and 109 roads. Construction of control line at the USFS 1817 and 1830 roads continues in the northeast. Crews will hold and improve existing control lines in the southeast and mop up in the northwest.
