Current Fire Situation: Firefighters with the Shasta-Trinity National Forest are closely monitoring and responding to ten fires caused lightning storms passing over northern California the evening of September 12, 2017. Four of the 10 fires are now either contained or in a patrol status.

The US Forest Service is conducting aerial reconnaissance flights to determine potential fire growth and appropriate response activity of any new developing fires. These reconnaissance flights are part of our normal operating plan after lightning storms.
