Smoke: Hotter, dryer conditions are expected today with near critical fire weather expected this afternoon. Westerly winds are predicted this afternoon and active fire behavior is again possible today. Yesterday, Rice Ridge, Liberty, and Alice Creek added 2,526 acres, 226 acres and 437 acres respectively.
Fire: WAs high pressure builds today, smoke will be slow to disperse and clear especially overnight and tomorrow morning. Westerly winds are predicted this afternoon which will transport smoke to the east. Seeley Lake will continue to have Hazardous AQ in the morning followed by better AQ in the afternoon. Condon, Rainy Lake, and Clearwater will have periods of air quality in the USG range this morning followed by better conditions this afternoon. Arlee, Potomac, and Lincoln should have moderate conditions today.
Other: High pressure and poor smoke dispersion will continue tomorrow, with light easterly winds expected on Monday. Anticipate reduced roadway visibility (AM) especially if RH recovers to+70% (mid- elevation valleys).
