Liberty Fire Emergency Area Closure
PROHIBITIONS:Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (b) and 43 CFR 9212.2(a) (b) (1) the following act is prohibited on the area, roads, and trails as described in this order until further notice:
Going into or being upon the fire area as described below and depicted on the attached map that is closed for the protection of public health or safety.
Nature Conservancy - Criminal Trespass to property (MCA 45-6-203).
US Forest Service - 36 CFR 261.53(e)
Bureau of Land Management - 43 CFR 9212.1(g)
EXEMPTIONS: The following persons are exempt from this order:
Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
Beginning at the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) reservation boundary at T16N, R17W,S8 heading East and South East crossing Second Creek, Grouse Creek, Buck Creek and Finley Creek to T16N,16W, S27 then south to T16N,16W,S30 at Boles Creek. Continuing due east to T15N,15W,S5 at Vaughn Creek, then due south crossing North Fork Blanchard Creek, Cold Brook and Blanchard Creek to T14N,14W,S9, continuing west crossing Belmont Creek and Gold Creek to T14N,17W,S11, then turning northwest crossing Spring Creek, West Fork Gold Creek, next to and including Boulder Lake to the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) reservation boundary at T15N,18W,S3, continuing north following the CSKT boundary until it intersects with the point of beginning.
All trails and roads that are within and those that make up the boundaries to this area closure are closed due to the Liberty fire.
These closures are necessary to provide protection to visitors from the current fire safety hazards associated with the Liberty Fire.
This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until rescinded.
A map identifying the closure area is attached and made part of this Order.
Any violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for a individual or $10,000 for an organization, and/or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months. Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3571 (b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581 (b)(7), or fined in accordance with 18 USC 3571 or imprisoned not more than 12 months under Title 43 CFR 1733(a) and 43 CFR 8365.1-7
