Outlook for Liberty-Rice

Link to Smoke Report w graphs & additional links

Smoke:
Today an upper lazy WNW flow persists. This
permits daytime local smoke accumulations. From 3 PM – 8
PM with a slightly improved wind flow, smoke impacts will
be extended further downwind. After 8 PM local smoke will
accumulate thru the night & into Sunday. Seeley Lake
maintains its cyclic pattern, Hazardous AM. Moderate AQ
expected late afternoon. Lincoln & Clearwater should see
poorer AQ today while Condon & Rainy Lake AQ improves
for the day.

Fire: Yesterday Rice Ridge & Liberty Fires increased their
acres respectfully at 849 and 694 acres. Alice Cr. added
261 acres. Fire activity today will be moderate AM and
become stronger PM as warmer temps & lower Rh
influence burning. Park Cr. also contributes to area smoke.

Other: Stagnant to very poor daytime smoke dispersion &
strong inversions return, so does degrading AQ. Anticipate
reduced roadway visibility (AM) especially if RH recovers
to+70% (mid- elevation valleys). For additional information
please refer to Missoula City-County Health Department in
the "links" below.

Returning to Hazardous through the night.
