Fire, Weather & Smoke Synopsis

Weather and Fire Behavior Summary: Today we are likely to see warmer & drier air w a bit of an increase in winds this afternoon. The Liberty Fire is expected to see continued smoldering & creeping in the morning until the inversion lifts.

Both Rice Ridge and Liberty Fires are expected to pickup in fire activity this afternoon. Winds will be primarily westerly.

Smoke Summary: Condon and Rainy Lakes are more likely to miss smoke impacts from fires west of the area, seeing clearer air quality than their neighbors to the South. Smoke from fires west of the area may drift into Arlee & Seeley Lake (and to a lesser extent, Clearwater) later this afternoon. Both communities will likely see increased smoke concentrations overnight due to nighttime drainage form the Liberty and Rice Ridge fires. Due to its proximity to the Rice Ridge Fire, Seeley Lake will continue to see heavy smoke concentrations pooling in the area at night.

Arlee: Yesterday the air quality was good, today & tomorrow it will be USG - Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.

Seeley Lake: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow the air quality has and will continue to be listed as Very Unhealthy.
