Orleans Complex Wildfire
News – 8/16/2017

Heavy smoke impacts are expected today in the Klamath River drainage region due to several active fires in the region and potential for fire growth. Northeasterly winds will drift smoke Southerly and downhill into drainages. The majority of impacts will be in the Happy Camp, Seiad Valley and Sawyers Bar areas where unhealthy conditions are expected. Smoke will continue to drift South down the Klamath River drainage affecting communities such as Somes Bar, Orleans, Hoopa and further. These areas are expected to see periods of USG (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups). Scott Valley communities may see an improvement in air quality this afternoon as winds help to push smoke out of the valley.
