Orleans Complex News Release

Orleans Complex Air Quality - Aug. 12, 2017

Incident: Orleans Complex Wildfire
Released: 8/12/2017

Smoke: Hazy skies and moderate smoke impacts will
remain in most communities in the NW California region
today. The exceptions are in the Happy Camp and Seiad
Valley area where heavier smoke impacts are being seen.
In this zone, overall air quality in the USG (Unhealthy for
Sensitive Groups) range is expected that could reach
unhealthy at times. Smoke conditions should improve later
this afternoon in all locations due to up-valley winds
helping to push out residual smoke before smoke drains
back into the valleys overnight. This trend is expected to
continue tomorrow.

Fire: Orleans:https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/5430/
Island:https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/5304/ Cedar:

Other: Smoke transport from regional fires will continue to
continue to degrading air quality this weekend.
