Orleans Complex News Release

Orleans Complex Air Quality - Aug. 11, 2017

Incident: Orleans Complex Wildfire
Released: 8/11/2017

Today's light Southwesterly winds will drift smoke
from fires in the Klamath and Six Rivers National Forests to
the North and East. Communities such as Happy Camp and
Seiad Valley may again see periods of USG (unhealthy for
sensitive groups). Otherwise, communities on the Southern
portion of the Klamath River drainage and Scott Valley,
such as Hoopa and Etna, should expect moderate air
quality with hazy skies. Additionally, smoke from fires to
the South in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest may drift
into the area impacting communities such as Willow Creek
and possibly Yreka, where generally moderate conditions
are expected.

Fire: Orleans:https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/5430/
Cedar: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/5482/

Other: There is a 20% chance of thunderstorm activity in
the afternoon which could create gusty and erratic outflow
winds increasing fire behavior.
