Orleans Complex News Release

Smoke Forecast for Northwest California Fires - August 6

Incident: Orleans Complex Wildfire
Released: 8/6/2017

Smoke conditions in the Klamath River drainage today should be very similar to yesterday, with the exception of a slight chance of outflow winds due to possible thunderstorms in the area, which would increase fire behavior and produce more smoke.

Scott Valley and communities upriver of the northwest California fires may continue to see air quality conditions in the unhealthy for sensitive groups and unhealthy range. Downriver communities may continue to see overall good/moderate conditions today.

Intensity of the smoke will continue to depend on the activity of these fires. Regional fires continue to contribute to degrading air quality.
