Effective Saturday, August 5, 2017, the Klamath National Forest has closed a section of Forest Road No. 15N17Y (Independence Creek Road) due to continued activity on the Ukonom Fire burning along the boundary of the Ukomon and Happy Camp ranger districts.
The Closure Area begins at the intersection of the eastern edge of the Klamath River and Forest Road No. 15N17Y (Independence Creek Road) and extends easterly along the southern boundary of Forest Road No. 15N17Y to its terminus at the intersection of Forest Road No. 14N05 (Kings Ridge Road), then continues along the northern boundary of Forest Road No. 14N05 to its intersection with the southern boundary of Section 18 in Township 14 North, Range 7 Eat, then continues westerly along the section line to its intersection with the Klamath River, then continues northeasterly along the eastern boundary of the Klamath River back to its starting point at Forest Road No. 15N17Y.
The closure is effective from Saturday, August 5, 2017 until the Ukonom Fire is declared out. PDFs of the closure order and a map are attached.
