Sliderock Fire Announcement

Sliderock Evacuation changed from Order (Red) to Warning (Yellow)

Incident: Sliderock Fire Wildfire
Released: 8/15/2017

At 19:00 (7:00 pm) Tuesday, August 15, 2017, the Granite County Sheriff determined that the Evacuation Order for the area, within and, surrounding the Sliderock Fire on the Sapphire Complex can be downgraded from a Red to Yellow Evacuation.

The Sliderock Fire Area will be reduced from an Evacuation Order (Level Red) to an Evacuation Warning (Level Yellow). Yellow Evacuation Warning (Pre-Evacuation) means people should be ready to leave at a moment's notice. This change ONLY affects the area within and immediately adjacent to the Sliderock Fire. Brewster Creek Road remains closed because of fire traffic, however residents can access the area via Road 513 from Hall, Montana.

The Evacuation status for Rock Creek and Willow Creek residents remain unchanged.
