Moose Creek 1 Fire News Release

Aug 12 - Moose Creek 1 Fire Update

Incident: Moose Creek 1 Fire Wildfire
Released: 8/12/2017

The Moose Creek 1 fire is estimated at 7,758 acres. Minimal fire activity occurred Friday on the fire, due in part to somewhat higher relative humidity and a light inversion. Structure protection is in place on the Halfway, Meeker and Three Links bridges as well as on the Shissler Lookout. Crews will continue structure protection efforts. Visitors recreating on the Selway River should expect to see smoke and fire in the area and use extreme caution as trees are currently falling in and around the river.

Area and trail closures remain in effect for the safety and protection of the public.
