The Forest Service issued a revised trail and area closure order July 27, 2017 for the area surrounding the Indian Creek Fire. The new closure order includes Eagle Creek Trail #440, from the boundary with Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness (to the north) to its terminus at the junction with the Pacific Crest Trail. This is the portion of the Eagle Creek Trail within the Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness. The closure also includes adjacent trails Eagle Benson Trail #434, Indian Springs Trail #435, Eagle Tanner Trail #433, all of Tanner Butte Trail #401, Chinidere Cutoff Trail #406M, and the Wahtum Lake Trailhead. In addition, Forest Road 1310 east of the junction with 1311 to its terminus at Wahtum Lake is closed to the public.
Wahtum Lake Campground and Indian Springs Campground are closed. On the Eagle Creek Trail, Tunnel Falls is closed but Punchbowl Falls remains open. The Pacific Crest Trail #2000, Chinidere Mountain Trail #445 north of the PCT, and Rainy Wahtum Trail #409 are open.
