Emergency Area Closure for Health and Safety - Chetco Bar Fire

Pursuant to 16 USC § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited upon the Gold Beach and Wild Rivers Ranger Districts within the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest as described below and shown in Exhibit A. This Order will be effective beginning August 17, 2017 and ending December 31, 2017.

I. Going onto or being within an area closed for public health and safety. [36 C.F.R. § 26 l .53(e)]

AREA CLOSURE DESCRIPTION:The Chetco Bar Fire Arca Closure is described as beginning at the junction of Trail 1102 and Boulder Creek and heading north along the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Boundary to the Junction of the Kalmiopsis and Big Craggie Ridge line, at elevation of 5150', heading northeast along the Big Craggie Ridgeline, at elevation points that proceed from 4150' to 4619' to 3701' to the junction of the Green Wall and the Illinois River: heading east along the Illinois River, but not including the river proper, to the junction o[ the Illinois River and eastern boundary of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness boundary; heading south along the Kalmiopsis boundary to the junction of Trail 1102 and the Kalmiopsis boundary; heading west on Trail 1102 and ending at the junction of Trail 1102 and the West boundary of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness boundary.

EXEMPTIONS:Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.SO(c), the following persons are exempt from this order:
1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of any organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance or an official duty.

This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C. F.R. Part 261, Subpart A.
