Smoke Outlook September 19, 2017

Incident: Lolo Peak Fire Wildfire

·This is the final smoke outlook for the Bitterroot Valley due to greatly improved air quality·

Smoke: Periods of rain and snow will continue today and tomorrow. Recent precipitation has decreased fire activity and ‘washed out’ much of the residual smoke. Air quality has greatly improved and is anticipated to remain good for the extended outlook.

Fire: Fire behavior has been limited to large fuels, stumps holes, hollow trees, and deep duff. The forecasted precipitation should continue to wet fuels and limit fire behavior.

Other: Extended weather forecasts include cooler temperatures and chances of precipitation through Friday. Air quality should remain good or moderate.
