Public Cooperation with Closures and Evacuations

Incident: Sapphire Complex-Little Hogback Wildfire

Shawn Pearson’s Incident Management Team appreciates the support of the communites affected by the Sapphire Fire Complex. The current evacuations by the Granite County Sheriff along with the Area/Road Closures by the Lolo and Beaverhead-Deerlodge were implemented to protect firefighters and the public living and recreating in the area. Please know that fire is a very dynamic situation that requires all affected individuals to stay alert.

The residents affected by the closure(s) and evacuation areas are asked to meet the spirit of the of intent of the restrictions. We are working with our partners and exploring options to address access challenges. Please remember this is a dynamic situation that is dictated by the fire behavior. Any further restrictions will be carefully considered.
