Hyde Fire - July 18 Update

Hyde Fire Wildfire
News – 7/18/2017

July 19 Update

Location: 30 miles northwest of Prescott in Camp Wood (T17N, R6W, S26)

Start Date: July 10th

Size: Approximately 18,072 Acres

Percent Contained: 30

Cause: Lightning

Vegetation: Chaparral and Ponderosa Pine

Resource Commitment: 30 personnel assigned - 1 Fuel Modules; 1-Type 3 Engine; 1-Type 3 Helicopter

Summary: Yesterday the Hyde Fire had some growth to the south increasing the acreage to 18,072. With recent rain, fuel moistures are high, keeping fire activity minimal; allowing this low intensity wildfire to burn forest litter, dead logs, pine needles and reduce the risk of severe wildfires in the future. Crews will continue monitoring and securing the perimeter over the next few days and work to increase containment on the perimeter of the fire.
