Doyle, CA, July 16, 2017 – Fire efforts continued today with air and ground crews working in unison to increase fire containment. Firefighters have made significant progress on the northwest flank of the fire and are now patrolling the area.
The fire is continuing to burn actively on the east flank. Fire crews worked hard to construct fire line around the perimeter of the fire. Dozers were utilized to provide a direct attack on the fire front.
There is a red flag warning in effect from noon to 2000 for Monday and Tuesday. This will bring strong winds and low humidity which will cause an increase in fire behavior. This is a highly dynamic situation that requires consistent monitoring. If you live in the affected fire area please stay alert and be ready for evacuation! Fire crews are aware of the situation and are taking the proper precautions to mitigate the increased threat.
At 2000 tonight an evacuation advisory will be in effect for the Sutcliffe community due to the very high winds expected tomorrow. An evacuation center has been set up:
