This will be the final update from Thompson’s Northern Rockies Type II IMT for the

Rogers Mtn-Lazier Creek 3 Fire.

Start date: July 8, 2017

Location: Highway 2 corridor

Cause: Lightning

Total Personnel: 248

Thompson’s Type II Incident Management Team transferred command of the Rogers Mtn-Lazier Creek 3 incident to the Montana Department of Natural Resources Northwestern Land Office on Thursday, July 20th. A Type III organization will manage the Rogers Mountain and Lazier Creek 3 fires, the other three fires have been transferred to the DNRC Kalispell and Libby Units, respectively. The Type III Team will transfer command of the Lazier Creek 3 and Rogers Mountain Fires back to the home units early next week.

Lazier Creek 3 Fire: 1,145 acres, 100% contained, 204 personnel assigned. Located south of Highway 2 and west of the Thompson River Road. Crews will continue to remove hose and other equipment from secure areas of fireline. Resources, including engines, will remain on scene to patrol the fire.

Rogers Mountain Fire: 78 acres, 100% contained, 34 personnel assigned.Located 3 miles Northwest of Happy’s Inn. Crews will continue to remove hose and other equipment from secure areas of fireline. Resources remain on scene to patrol the fire.

Grubb Fire: 16 acres, 100 % contained, 3 personnel assigned. Located north of Pleasant Valley. Resources remain on scene to patrol the fire.

NW Meadow Peak Fire: 12 acres, 100% contained, 4 personnel assigned. Located northwest of Meadow Peak Lookout. Resources remain on scene to patrol the fire.

2645 Fire: 4 acres, 100% contained, 3 personnel assigned.Located just west of the NW Meadow Peak Fire. Resources remain on scene to patrol the fire.
