PROHIBITIONS:

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. 551 and 36 C.F.R. 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on the areas, roads, and trails described in this order, and depicted on the attached map hereby incorporated as Exhibit A (the “closure area”), all within the Globe Ranger District of the Tonto National Forest, Arizona:

  1. Going into or being upon the area described in the Order. 36 CFR 261.53(e)

  2. Being on the trail. 36 CFR 261.55 (a)

  3. Being on a road. 36 CFR 261.54 (e)

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e) the following persons are exempt from this order:

  1. Persons with a US Forest Service permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
  1. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

  1. Employees, contractors and subcontractors of various companies, while working on or travelling to and from communications facilities at the top of Pinal Mountain.


RESTRICTED AREA:

All National Forest System Lands, roads, and trails within the perimeter described here. Starting at National Forest System Road (NFSR) 112 and the junction with National Forest System Trail (NFST) 196, northerly along the eastern edge of NFSR 112 (NFSR 112 is closed) to a point immediately north of the Ice House CCC day use site, then approximately 1.25 miles in a direct line Northwesterly to NFSR 651 just south of NFSR 55 (Tuxedo Junction), then along the western/southern edge of NFSR 651 (NFSR 651 is closed) to its terminus, then along the southern edge of NFST 196 to NFSR 112. In addition, NFST 197, 214 and 200 will be closed in their entirety as will Icehouse CCC day use site.

PURPOSE:

To provide for the public’s health and safety during management activities associated with the Pinal Fire.

IMPLEMENTATION:

  1. The fire incident commander and logistics chief will requisition USFS Law Enforcement Officers, FPOs, Gila County SO Deputies and AZGFD officers to assist in implementation of the Order. This order becomes effective at 06:00 AM on July 21, 2017 until August 31, 2017 unless terminated sooner. This order rescinds and supersedes order 12-17-304 2R.

  2. This Order will be effected by appropriate signs and closure notices as required by 36 CFR 261.50. Local electronic signboards and ADOT signboards will indicate closures as necessary.
3. Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for individual or $10,000.00 for organizations or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months or both. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3571(b) (6), Title 18 USC 3581 (b) (7)].
