    Start Date: March 2, 2017 Size: 500 acres

    Cause: Under investigation Vegetation: Grass

    Smoke: Smoke may be visible from NM Hwy 60

    Resources: 8 engines – four Forest Service, two Bureau of Land Management and 2 volunteer fire department

    Incident Commander: Shilow Norton, ICT-3

    Summary: The Rael Fire is burning on state, private and Forest Service lands in the area of Rael Mesa. Values at risk included some homes and power-lines which are being protected by fire fighters.
