Eden Fire Update
CLINTS WELL, Ariz., Sept. 8, 2019 – The Eden Fire is approximately 1,300 acres. Minimal growth on the fire was experienced during the previous operational period.
Yesterday, Fire Fighters established fire in the Windmill Draw area before receiving a significant amount of precipitation over most of the fire area. Today Firefighters will monitor the fire to ensure it stays within control lines. If conditions become favorable, Firefighters will continue with ignitions in the next several days. Though fire behavior is expected to be minimal the next several days, areas of moderate fire activity and heavy smoke are possible.
The public should use caution when recreating or hunting near the fire area due to hazardous fire-weakened trees, burning stump holes and fire personnel working in the area.
With any wildfire, smoke will impact certain areas, communities and roadways. There are no perfect weather conditions that exist to remove smoke impacts entirely from areas near a fire.
Smoke may affect areas including Flagstaff, Clints Well, Blue Ridge communities, state Routes 87 and 260, other Mogollon Rim ranches and communities and Forest Highway 3 (Lake Mary Road).
