PROHIBITIONS

Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50 (a) and (b), the following act is prohibited on all lands as described in this order, within the Idaho City and Lowman Ranger Districts, Boise National Forest. This order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until Rescinded.

  1. Going into or being upon the areas as described in this order. 36 CFR 261.52(e)

  2. Being on the trails as described in this order. 36 CFR 261.55(a)

    EXEMPTIONS:

    Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50 (e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

  1. Persons with a special use authorization or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order;

  2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty;

  3. Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of an official duty;

  4. Persons using NFS Road #384 (Crooked River Road) and NFS Road #362 (Little Beaver Creek Road) within the Little Beaver Closure Area described below.

    AREAS, ROADS AND TRAILS DESCRIPTION:

    The following Areas and National Forest System (NFS) Trail on the Idaho City Ranger District are closed to all uses:

    The Little Beaver Closure Area is described as all National Forest System (NFS) lands (including all roads and trails within the area) within the following boundary - beginning at the junction of Idaho State Highway 21 and NFS Road #362 (Little Beaver Road) located in Township 8 North, Range 7 East, Section 22; continuing southerly along, but not including NFS Road #362 to NFS Road #362B located in Township 7 North, Range 7 East, Section 1; continuing easterly along, but not including NFS Road #362B to NFS Road #384 (Crooked River Road) located in Township 7 North, Range 7 East, Section 1; continuing southwesterly along, but not including NFS Road #384 to NFS Trail #158 (Crooked River Trail) located in Township 7 North, Range 7 East, Section 11; continuing southerly approximately ½ mile along, and including NFS Trail #158 to Lamar Creek located in Township 7 North, Range 7 East, Section 15; continuing westerly along Lamar Creek to Idaho State Highway 21 located in Township 7 North, Range 7 East, Section 16; continuing northerly along, but not including Idaho State Highway 21 back to the point of origin.

    The Bear Creek Closure Area is described as all National Forest System (NFS) lands (including all roads and trails within the area) within the following boundary - beginning at the junction of NFS Road #312 (Pikes Fork/Graham Road) and NFS Road 348J located in Township 8 North, Range 8 East, Section 31; continuing northeasterly along, but not including NFS Road #312 to the outer perimeter of the Pioneer Fire burn scar located in Township 8 North, Range 9 East, Section 14; continuing southwesterly along the outer perimeter of the Pioneer Fire burn scar to where the outer perimeter of the Pioneer Fire burn scar intersects the Middle Fork of Rockey Creek (intermittent stream) located in Township 8 North, Range 9 East, SW ¼ Section 29; continuing southeasterly along the Middle Fork of Rockey Creek to the confluence of the Middle Fork of Rockey Creek and the East Fork of Rockey Creek located in Township 8 North, Range 9 East, near the center of Section 32; continuing west across NFS Road #348 (approximately ½ mile south of Jenny Lake Trailhead in Township 8 North, Range 8 East, Section 36) and continuing west to the junction of NFS Road #348 and NFS Road #348J Township 8 North, Range 8 East, Section 34; continuing westerly along, but not including NFS Road #348J to NFS Trail #565 (Crooked Pike Loop Trail) located in Township 7 North, Range 8 East, Section 4; continuing westerly along, but not including NFS Trail #565 to NFS Road #348J located in Township 7 North, Range 8 East, Section 5; continuing westerly along, but not including NFS Road #348J back to the point of origin.

    NFS Trail #158 (Crooked River Trail) is closed in its entirety beginning at NFS Road #384, located in Township 7 North, Range 7 East, Section 11 and continuing to NFS Road #327 located in Township 6 North, Range 8 East, Section 17.

    The following Areas and NFS Trails on the Lowman Ranger District are closed to all uses:

    The Deadwood Boat Launch Closure Area is described as all lands within 100 feet of the outer perimeter of the Deadwood Boat Launch site, located in Township 9 North, Range 7 East, Section 32.

    The Pine Flats Campground and Hotsprings Closure Area is described as all lands within 100 feet of the outer perimeter of Pine Flats Campground, Pine Flats access road, and Pine Flats Hotsprings, located in Township 8 North, Range 7 East, Section 6.

    NFS Trail #019 (Deadwood Ridge Trail) is closed in its entirety beginning at County Highway 17, located in Township 9 North, Range 7 East, Section 29 and continuing to the Junction of NFS Roads #510 and #510C located in Township 11 North, Range 7 East, Section 12.

    NFS Trail #020 (Julie Creek Trail) is closed in its entirety beginning at NFS Road #024GB, located in Township 9 North, Range 7 East, Section 29 and continuing to NFS Trail #019 (Deadwood Ridge Trail) located in Township 10 North, Range 7 East, Section 22.

    NFS Trail #017 (Lost Lake Trail) is closed in its entirety beginning at NFS Road #502, located in Township 11 North, Range 9 East, Section 7 and continuing to the trail’s terminus at the Lake located in Township 11 North, Range 9 East, Section 18.

    NFS Trail #022 (Nellies Basin Trail) is closed in its entirety beginning at NFS Road #555, located in Township 10 North, Range 6 East, Section 35 and continuing to the Junction of NFS Trail #020 (Julie Creek Trail), located in Township 9 North, Range 7 East, Section 5.

    NFS Trail #013 (Stevens Point Trail) is closed in its entirety beginning at NFS Trail #019 (Deadwood Ridge Trail), located in Township 10 North, Range 7 East, Section 27 and continuing to the trail’s terminus at Stevens Point located in Township 10 North, Range 7 East, Section 33.

    NFS Trail #145 (Clear Creek Trail) is closed in its entirety beginning at NFS Road #515, located in Township 10 North, Range 8 East, Section 1 and continuing to the Junction of NFS Trail #144 (Kirkham Ridge Trail), located in Township 11 North, Range 9 East, Section 33.

    NFS Trail #018 (Long Creek Trail) is closed in its entirety beginning at NFS Trail #144 (Kirkham Ridge Trail), located in Township 10 North, Range 8 East, Section 33 and continuing to the junction of NFS Road #545 (Long Creek Road) located in Township 10 North, Range 8 East, Section 32.

    NFS Trail #143 (Red Mountain Trail) is closed in its entirety beginning at NFS Trail #145 (Clear Creek Trail), located in Township 11 North, Range 9 East, Section 32 and continuing to the trail’s terminus at Red Mountain located in Township 11 North, Range 9 East, Section 29.

    NFS Trail #021 (Whitehawk Basin Trail) is closed beginning at NFS Road #510C, located in Township 11 North, Range 7 East, SW ¼ Section 15 and continuing to the Junction of NFS Trail #019 (Deadwood Ridge Trail) located in Township 11 North, Range 7 East, Section 23.

    NFS Trail #144 (Kirkham Ridge Trail) is closed beginning at the junction of NFS Trails #159 (Miller Mountain Trail) and #144 (Kirkham Ridge Trail) located in Township 9 North, Range 8 East, Section 8 and continuing to NFS Trail #148 located in Township 11 North, Range 9 East, Section 27.

    The above described areas and trails are located on National Forest System lands within the administrative and proclaimed boundaries of the Idaho City and Lowman Ranger Districts, Boise National Forest, Boise and Valley Counties, Idaho, Boise Meridian.

    PURPOSE:

The areas and trails as described above have ongoing wildfire activity (Pioneer Fire). These areas and trails are closed for public safety and protection from hazards associated with wildfire.

IMPLEMENTATION:

1. This order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until rescinded.

2. Two maps identifying the closed areas and trails is attached and made part of this order.

  1. Violation of the above prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for an individual, or $10,000.00 for an organization, and/or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months. 16 U.S.C. §551; 18 U.S.C. §§ 3571(b)(6), 3581 (b)(7).

  2. This order supersedes any previous order(s) prohibiting the same, or similar acts prohibited by this order in the areas, roads, and trails covered by this order.

  3.
