Current Situation Zone 1 (north portion): Fire crews continue to patrol, mop up, hold, and improve existing control lines throughout Zone 1. Rain showers and isolated thunderstorms last night have assisted in the efforts of further containment and are forecasted to continue throughout the day. The demobilization process continues while facilitating the needs of the incident. The Tahoe National Forest has issued a route closure, which includes Mosquito Ridge Road, Forest Service Road 22, and the Western States and Tevis Cup trails. For detailed information please visit:

Current Situation Zone 2 (south portion): Temperatures will continue to be cool with the chance of showers and thunderstorms expected throughout the day. Crews continue to mop up, hold, and improve existing control lines. Containment lines continue to be coordinated between Zones 1 and Zones 2. Fire Suppression Repair Teams are preparing to work in the fire effected areas. The demobilization process continues to release excess resources while maintaining an adequate amount of resources to meet incident needs. In an effort to prevent the spread of non-native weeds and diseases within the forest, a vehicle rinse station has been established using water conservation measures and run off containment. The King Fire is being managed in Unified Command with Eldorado National Forest, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and CAL FIRE. The Federal Team CIIMT 5 (Jim Giachino) is managing Zone 1 (northern portion) of the fire, and CAL FIRE IMT 5 (Kevin Smith) is managing Zone 2 (southern portion) of the fire.


Evacuation Shelter Location: The evacuation shelter is located at the Camino Seventh-day Adventist Church at 3520 Carson Road in Camino.

El Dorado County Information Hotline: The hotline number (530) 642-7263 will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Voicemail is available on weekends and outside of the hotline hours.
