SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FOREST Temporary Order

Coffee Fire Area, Road, and Trail Closure

Pursuant to 16 USC 551 and 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Trinity River Management District of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. This Order is effective from August 6, 2014, until the Coffee Fire is declared out.

I. Going into or being upon National Forest System lands within the Coffee Fire Closure Area.

The Coffee Fire Closure Area boundary begins at the intersection of the Trinity County Rd. I04 and South Fork Creek Trailhead (T38N, R9W, sec 29), then continues north along South Fork Trail (Forest Trail No. 9W04) to its intersection with Trail Gulch (Forest Trail No. 9W15), then continues east along Trail Gulch (Forest Trail No. 9W15) to its intersection with Long Gulch Trail (Forest Trail No. 9W 14), then continues northeast along Long Gulch Trail to its intersection with Long Gulch Trailhead, then continues northeast along Forest Road No. 39N08 to its intersection with Forest Road No. 93, then continues notth, northeast along Forest Road No. 93 to its intersection with Forest Road No. 40N 17 (39N, R9W, sec 1 0), then continues east along Forest Road No. 40N 17 to its intersection with Fox Creek Ridge Trailhead, then continues east along Forest Road No. 40N 17 to its intersection with Middle Boulder Trailhead, then continues east along Forest Road No. 40N 17 to its intersection with Forest Road No. 39N63, then continues east along Forest Road No. 39N63 to its intersection with East Boulder Trailhead, then continues southeast along East Boulder Lake Trail (Forest Trail No. 8W02) to its intersection with the Pacific Crest Trail , then continues west along the Pacific Crest Trail to its intersection with Granite Creek Trail (Forest Trail No. 8W09), then continues east on Tangle Blue Lake Trail (Forest Trail No. 8WO I) to its intersection with Eagle Creek Trail (Forest Trail No. 7W05), then continues east along Eagle Creek Trai l to its intersection with Eagle Creek Trailhead, then continues east along Forest Road No. 38N27 to its intersection with County Road No. 140, then continues southwest along County Road No. 140 to its intersection with Highway 3, then continues south along Highway 3 to its intersection with County Road No. 104 (Coffee Creek Rd), then continues west along County Road No. 1 04 back to its starting point, as shown on the attached map. 36 CFR 261.52(e).

2. Being on any National Forest System trail within the Coffee Fire Closure Area, as shown on the attached map. 36 CFR 261.55(a).

3. Being on any National Forest System road within the Coffee Fire Closure Area, as shown on the attached map. 36 CFR 261.54(e).

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order: 1. Persons with a permit from the Forest Service specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.

2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR 261 , Subpart A. A violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine or not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 tor an organization or imprisonment for not more than si x months, or both. 1 6 USC 551 and 1 8 USC 3559, 3571 , and 3581 .
