Etiwanda Fire Update 5/3 8:00 pm

Incident: Etiwanda Fire Wildfire

The Etiwanda fire is winding down. Fire size is 2190 acres and containment has increased to 86% this evening. The main firefighting activity is in the north- end of the fire up in the foothills of the San Bernardino National Forest. Firefighters will continue working tonight in this area. Containment lines will be strengthened and active heat patches will be extinguished. Mop-up work is also in progress.

Temperatures tonight will be around 59 degrees with relative humidity starting to move upwards to 40%. Winds will be west to southwest and 5 to 10 mph. Beginning Monday, there will be a gradual trend towards cooler temperatures and higher relative humidity. Weather conditions have moderated and fire behavior is relatively calm.
