Timber closed and open stand transition to sage and grass in the flats.

Fuel consists of Eastside, and White Pine in the drainages, and Montane Chapparal is present.

Fuel moistures remain critically low both live and dead. Energy Release Component is above at 97th percentile.

Significant Events

Smoldering and creeping, fire remained inside of the current perimeter.


Planned Actions

Removal of fire damaged, hazard trees in the vicinity of Frenchman Lake.

Hold and improve fire line and mop up to the extent necessary to keep the fire within its current perimeter.

Continue to assist the Forest, and adjoining units by providing resources for initial attack should it occur.

Continue with suppression repair of constructed firelines.

Projected Incident Activity

Road closures continue due to a threat to the public and responders due to fire damage including trees, and loose rocks.

Plumas County: All surrounding areas of Frenchmen Lake, Carmen Frenchmen Cove, Dooley, Frenchmen Village, Dixie Valley road from Beckwourth Genesee Road to

Frenchmen Lake.

A FOREST CLOSURE Order remains in effect, so only property owners may access the area and may only access the area to visit their property.

Weather Concerns


Temperatures will warm back to well above normal for the first half of this week with RHs gradually drying.

Clearing conditions will result in temperatures quickly climbing into the 80s and possibly low 90s along with RH

falling rapidly in between 15 and 20 percent. Generally westerly winds may increase with mostly sunny skies with gusts possibly as great as 15 to 18 mph.
