Significant Events

Crews continued today with extensive mop up operations working in 60 feet off the containment line and patrolling the containment lines for smoke. Acreage has increased to 8,000 acres due to better mapping. The Campbell Fire reached 100% containment at the end of the operational shift today showing no heat or activity.

Outlook
Planned Actions

Dozer crews will continue to improve containment lines and engines will patrol and mop up areas of concern, crews are also working to update mapping for more accurate acreage.

Projected Incident Activity

Fire activity may pick up with extreme temperatures in the afternoon, but crews have continued to maintain control in containing the Campbell Fire.

Current Weather
Weather Concerns

The main concern this evening will be convection and associated erratic winds and potential lightning. There currently is an outflow boundary located across Willbarger county that will move toward the fire location and could reach the site by 8 or 9 p.m. this evening. When this occurs a period of north to northwest winds will be possible before south winds return. There does remain a chance of actual precipitation making the site as well later this evening with lightning and hopefully some rainfall.
