This fire started in the Lassen County community of Doyle.  It destroyed 21 homes and 19 outbuildings.  The change from earlier loss figures is from the final report of the damage assessment team.  The fire acreage has been revised upward to 2,800.  The increase is due to more accurate mapping.  There has been no fire growth since Tuesday.  The fire has damaged developments at the Bureau of Land Management Fort Sage Off Highway Vehicle Recreation Area east of Doyle.  The BLM has temporarily closed the OHV area while fire containment and patrol are underway and while any hazards are located the removed.

Significant Events

Wind-driven fire destroyed 21 homes, 19 outbuildings. Four additional outbuildings were damaged Parts of the Fort Sage OHV Recreation Area were damaged.

Mop up and patrol through the upcoming weekend and into early next week.

The change in structure loss figures is from completion of the final report by the damage assessment team. This fire was initially called Laura. It is Laura 2 to avoid confusion with a fire earlier this yearin the same location.
