The Bald Fire is a lightning caused wildfire that started on July 28th, 2020 on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. A local Type 3 Incident Management Team from the Shasta McCloud Management Unit is managing this incident. Fire crews are using full suppression strategies to contain this fire. Crews have completed a hand line around the fire and the fire is now 20% contained. The general location is south of Dunsmuir, CA and East of Castella, CA.  

Updated Advisory: All trials in the proximity of the Bald fire including the Ash Camp Trial, the Cabin Creek Trail and Pacific Crest Trail between the two trails are open for public use. The advisory from July 29, 2020 has been lifted.
