This will be the last update for the Smith Knob Fire unless fire activity necessitates further updates (September 13, 2019).

The Smith Knob Fire is located approximately 7 miles northeast of Warren and 3 miles north of the Hettinger/South Fork Ranch.

The fire closure order for the Smith Knob Fire has been terminated - there are no closures related to this fire. Visitors to the area should use caution regarding the potential for falling snags along roads and trails throughout the fire area.

While no significant fire activity has occurred in the past several days, the fire will continue to be actively monitored.
