Little Bear Fire 8 26 2019Image options: [ Full Size ]

The lightning-caused Little Bear Fire was first discovered on July 26, located about 7 miles southeast of Hatch. The Little Bear has grown to approximately 2450 acres and has 77 fire personnel assigned as of Aug. 30. It is gradually spreading north and east within the identified boundaries of the planning area. As it burns naturally through the area, it can be beneficial to the fire-adapted ecosystem by removing fuels that could feed future forest fires.
