The Wilson Prairie Fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon burning on Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) protected lands within the Morrow County. The fire is located approximately twenty-three miles southwest of Heppner, Oregon. Currently the fire is estimated at 700 acres, burning in grass, brush, and timber within the Umatilla National Forest and on ODF protected lands. Cause of the fire is under investigation. Bull Prairie Reservoir and Campground have been evacuated and are currently closed.

High pressure will start moving east on Monday allowing warmer and drier weather to move in the area. Instability will increase as well leading to a Haines of 5. With the increasing instability stronger winds will develop at ridge tops from the southwest.
