The Fawn Fire was reported July 7th at 5:00 pm. The fire is located in a rugged, remote section of the Piceance Basin about 30 miles southwest of Meeker. Friday, crews worked within the containment lines checking for smoking areas and putting out hot spots. Crews have also been working on suppression repair. This is an ongoing process where we will work with land owners and other stakeholders to clean up the burn areas, the lines, roadways and add water bars as needed.


NW 11 is also managing a near-by fire called the Ridgetop Fire. It's located about 10 miles South of Meeker, CO. The fire is currently 144 acres, 98% containment, and started on Saturday, July 7th. The cause is unknown at this time. Crews are still monitoring for hotspots within the fire line. Crews are also working with landowners to provide suppression repair needs and will continue to monitor the fire.
