The Horse Park Fire was detected on Saturday May 26. Fire crews were able to reach the fire Sunday May 27. Late Sunday evening fire behavior increased and the fire grew rapidly. Monday, May 28 a Type 2 team was requested to take management of the fire. The Rocky Mountain Blue Team, Jay Esperance Incident Commander took command of the fire on Tuesday May 29, at 0600. Fire behavior remained moderate to low until the Rocky Mountain Blue transferred command on Saturday June 2. At this time the fire is 100% contained and is 1,221 acres.
