Firefighters have the Viewpoint Fire 100% contained and will have it controlled and out by Tuesday, May 15th. The fire is complete at 5,600 acres. The fire has determined to be human caused and is under investigation. Two primary homes, 12 other structures, 4 RV travel trailers, and 6 vehicles were destroyed in the fire. The fire started around 11am Friday morning, roughly 9 miles s. of Chino Valley. The fire ran 8 1/2 miles over a six hour period due to the dry vegetation it was burning through.
There are no closures at this time and all evacuation orders have been lifted.
