The Creek Fire started on Dec. 5 at 3:44 am four miles east of Sylmar, California. The fire is being managed under unified command with USDA Forest Service Angeles National Forest, Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Fuels Involved

Significant amounts of unburned brush and tall grass

are still present within the fire perimeter. Heavy, decadent brush in excess of 30 feet located in various drainages inside the perimeter.

Significant Events

Minimal fire activity reported today. Smoldering isolated pockets of heat within the interior of the fire perimeter were reported.


Planned Actions

Crews continue to reinforce and containment line while patrolling for hotspots and mopping-up. Suppression repair work has begin.

Projected Incident Activity

Unburned and decadent fuels within the perimeter may lead to additional fire activity which could threaten control lines

Weather Concerns

Red Flag Warning extended until 8 pm PST Wednesday.

Santa Ana winds will continue across the fire area through Wednesday evening.
