A smoke plume rises from the Forked Fire in the Ouachita National Forest

The Forked Fire grew minimally yesterday and is currently at 954 acres and 80% contained. The fire has caused the temporary closure of the Flatside Wilderness and the portion of the Ouachita Trail that goes through the Wilderness.
