The Alpine Ranger District on the Apache Sitgreaves National Forests conducted approximately 10 miles of roadside pile burning along forest roads 403, 403F and Highway 191, which started October 31 and continued through November 9. The burn consisted of old decadent slash piles left over from the Wallow salvage sale, which were burned to allow for the regeneration of new seedlings and/or native grasses.
